The Millennium Fishing Trip

On August 27th, 2000 a 70 foot boat set sail out of Pt Pleasant, NJ for the first annual
Auto Tech On Wheels fishing trip. This trip was organized as a FREE event for an appreciation
for the business I received from my Top 50 repair garages and body shops. It was a bring your
own food and drink deal but the poles and bait were supplied.
We initially started out for Blues but they just weren't biting for the day so we had to settle
for Sea Bass and Fluke instead. The weather was fair with a mixture of sun and clouds in the
morning and early afternoon but later in the day it began to drizzle. There was plenty of food,
beer and car talk on board so nothing really phased us. We even instituted a collection pool to
award the person who caught the first fish and biggest fish.
What a way to spend a day to get away from the everyday stress that our businesses may hold for
us at times. It was just a simple day of laying back, taking it easy and enjoying the true
values of life.
I must say that this is one of the best things any company can do for their customers. It allows
you to show how much you appreciate your customers as well as create a strong bond for business relations. This was money well spent! I look forward to doing it every year.
