“Real World Training” Boot Camp
Come on board the Tech Hummer for a one on one roller coaster ride of non stop “Real World Training.”
The Boot Camp starts with an early morning pick-up time of 6:50 A.M. sharp at the Holiday Inn of Totowa, NJ (973-785-9000). Breakfast and lunch are included on the road during our daily stops. The day ends about 6:00 PM where you will be returned back to the hotel. A Friday night dinner is included to top off the week to talk about your experience and provide a summary and overview of everything you learned during your stay.
*You will need to call the hotel to make arrangements to book a room*
Each day will consist of 10 diagnostic encounters starting from 7:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. with a lunch break in between. These jobs will consist of:
- Engine management drivability
- Engine, Trans, Body, ABS, Air Bag, Security, 4×4 and Suspension computer analysis
- Reprogramming, Recoding, Reconfiguring, Recalibrating and Relearning onboard computer systems
- Immobilizer module and key set-up procedures
- EVAP system diagnostics
- 5-Gas Emission diagnostics
- Electrical system diagnostics
You will be tested and trained on the use of many different diagnostic routines. You will also be trained on the use of 21 factory scan tools of which I own and operate. With the complexity of today’s vehicles you will soon discover that in order to support ALL onboard vehicle systems and become an enhanced technician you will have to invest in factory tools of choice so I feel it necessary to expose and teach you about what is being experienced by dealer technicians first hand. You will walk away with a different outlook and fully understand what you need to do to retool yourself to meet the needs of working on current vehicle systems that some of your scan tools may not support at all due to costs of research and development. You will be taught how to recode, reconfigure and reprogram computers and perform Immobilizor key functions on cars as new as 2009. You will also be trained on the use of a graphing meter, fuel analyzer, multi-trace scope, information systems, accessing the web for factory info and being exposed to some new technology tools I have on board.
You will be given a workbook so that each vehicle we encounter will be logged for year, make, model, complaint and fix. We will also discuss these vehicles when we leave each shop to make sure you fully understand the diagnostic paths you took to resolve these problem vehicles. You will also be given my 160-page Automotive Computer Diagnostics book which you will read each night during your stay. I will direct many questions your way to see how well you are retaining the information you read and the training you received during the course. When the course is finished you will receive a Boot Camp patch and a certificate of completion. The Boot Camp schedule is on a first come first serve basis so Email me a week that will work for you and give me at least a 2 weeks notice prior to the week you choose so I can reserve you a seat. The fee for the Boot Camp is $1500 and does not include the hotel.
The goal of this Boot Camp is to test the ability of the tech in order to gauge his experience and enhance what he already knows. The tech will learn new tactics that will help him save time to find the root cause of a vehicle complaint by teaching the system strategies needed. The tech will learn that reference material troubleshooting guides may not always apply to the real world.
Upon completion you receive:
